VISUAL EVOKED POTENTIAL & ELECTRORETINOGRAM RESULTS IN PREVIOUSLY VENTILATED PRETERM INFANTS
نویسندگان
چکیده
Previously ventilated preterms are at a high risk of abnormal visual and neurological development when compared to full term babies non-ventilated preterms. Preterm birth is associated with retinopathy prematurity can also affect the brain structures post-retinal processing information. These impairments continue into adolescence adulthood may contribute difficulties in learning, attention, behavior cognition that some children born preterm experience. Electrophysiologic testing system requires primarily ERG &VEP which useful diagnosis loss nonverbal patients especially children.

Abnormalitites of Visual Evoked Potential in Migraine Patients
Background: Visual evoked potential (VEP) is regarded as a useful, reliable and non-invasive technique for the diagnosis of lesions in the optic pathway. This technique was used to investigate visual function in migraine. Materials and Methods: 53 migraine patients (27 migraine cases with aura and 26 common migraine cases) and 55 controls were prospectively enrolled in this study. Visual ev...

Introduction: Visual evoked potentials contain certain diagnostic information which have proved to be of importance in the visual systems functional integrity. Due to substantial decrease of amplitude in extra macular stimulation in commonly used pattern VEPs, differentiating normal and abnormal signals can prove to be quite an obstacle. Due to developments of use of machine l...
متن کاملA procedure for recording electroretinogram and visual evoked potential in freely moving cats.
A procedure for recording the electroretinogram (ERG) and the visual evoked potential (VEP) in freely moving cats was developed and used to test the visual toxicity of nalidixic acid. The electrodes for recording the ERG and VEP were implanted chronically in the sclera of the eye and on the surface of the visual cortex, respectively. Both the ERG and VEP were simultaneously recorded in freely m...

AIMS To examine the effects of light on retinal development and function in preterm infants as measured by the electroretinogram (ERG). Secondary outcomes included visual acuity testing, the incidence of retinopathy of prematurity, and general wellbeing, reflected in feeding tolerance, rate of weight gain, and length of hospital stay. METHODS Eligibility criteria for enrollment were birthweig...
